The southern seaside town of Eastbourne is the perfect spot for a family holiday. The town rests on a long shingle beach on the shores of the English Channel, and is within close proximity to a number of excellent sand and pebble beaches. These are great beaches for families as they have sun loungers to relax in, lifeguards to patrol the waters, and a variety of water sports such as stand-up paddling and scuba diving. The town even has a Children’s Safety Scheme for the beaches, where families can be provided with a free Kid’s Safety Pack. The pack contains sun cream, a colourful wristband with space to write a phone number, and an activity pack with crayons, to keep young ones safe and amused. If you rent a holiday apartment in town you can also take advantage of the large number of entertainment facilities there. For example, there is the bandstand where concerts take place regularly, and the Pier, which houses eateries, shops, an amusement arcade and a nightclub. A holiday rental in Eastbourne can also be a great place to plan a trip to the impressive chalk cliffs of the South Downs just outside of town. In particular, Beachy Head is a stunning sheer white, vertical cliff face that plummets to the sea below, and a great photographic opportunity for the family holiday album.
